How to Make a Website Mobile Friendly with Divi

by Last Updated: Sep 5, 2022Blog, WordPress Tips

Research has shown that an unbelievably high number of people are using mobile devices to access the web these days. These can be either smartphones or tablets. It’s believed that more people are accessing the web with their mobile devices than are using actual PC’s in fact… and this trend seems to be continuing with no end in site. This means a simple thing for the website owner; our websites have to be mobile-friendly… now more than ever before.

First off, I want to say, that it’s best if your website’s built on WordPress, because if it is, then making it mobile-friendly is relatively easy to do. On the other hand, if it isn’t built in WordPress, no worries, because a non-WordPress site can still be converted into WordPress (I’ll talk a bit more about that later in the article).

If you already have a website built in WordPress, but it’s not yet mobile friendly, there are two very easy ways to make it responsive:

Option #1: ElegantThemes Handheld Mobile Plugin

Your first option, if you’re looking to make your site mobile-friendly, is to install the ElegantTheme’s HandHeld Mobile Plugin. You will get access to this plugin along with the Divi theme when you buy an Elegant Themes membership (you will find HandHeld between the Elegant Themes legacy product downloads in your ET account). This is a great plugin which makes your site responsive instantly. It will work with any theme (not just ElegantThemes) and it will detect what device each visitor’s visiting from. If they happen to be on a mobile device, it will automatically display your site for them as a mobile site, making it so that they can effortlessly navigate it, and your site doesn’t look “warped” as is so often the case when a site isn’t built to be responsive. The device works on all smartphones which are using iOS, Android, or Windows, as well as many more.

Option #2: Rebuild Your Website Using Divi Theme

The next option you have, and I recommend this option, is to rebuild your site using the Divi theme. I talk about Divi theme here a lot, and why it’s such a fantastic theme. In case you’re not familiar with it, it’s an extremely customizable theme made by Elegant Themes which allows you to do nearly anything you want with a website with ease. It’s a great theme regardless of what niche or industry you’re in, because it’s so customizable. It’s also automatically responsive to mobile devices so you never have to worry about what kind of device your users are using. Very handy.

If you already have a website, and would like to build it out in Divi (which I highly recommend) this is something that I can handle for you, as I’m a WordPress designer and expert. On top of that, if your website isn’t built using WordPress, but is instead built using another CMS or a program like DreamWeaver, then I can help you convert it into a WordPress website, so you can enjoy all the many benefits which WordPress offers. Please contact me for a free quote, and I’d be happy to discuss further.

Or, if you want to do it all yourself, you can check my tutorial on how to build a website with Divi theme.

And you can also try using premium Divi child themes to make the designing process much easier. Child themes come with predesigned layouts that you will just load on your Divi website and customize.

I hope that helps, and good luck making your site(s) responsive!
