How to Add Buyer Notification Popups to a WooCommerce Store
I bet you know the feeling when you are searching for a hotel on Booking.com and you end up booking a hotel because you don’t want to miss it? I mean that the notification popups that show in the bottom left corner of your screen push you to make a reservation. They are telling you that someone has just booked a hotel. This tactic is called creating a FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) factor for you. And that’s exactly what this plugin is for. It is called social proof, too.
This plugin automatically connects your WooCommerce store and your WordPress website. It pulls recent orders and displays them as popup notifications. You can also redirect the visitors from the notification boxes to the products that have been purchased. This way you can create cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
The main features of the plugin include:
- Easy to install – you can add it to your online shop in minutes
- Timing rules – you can control the delay, speed, and delay time of the notifications
- 100% real – show only authentic & verified purchases, activities, and conversions
- Mobile friendly – the plugin is 100% responsive
- 100+ integrations – it integrates with many 3rd party platforms out-of-the-box
- Customizable – set the text, link, title color, and notification icon
If you are looking for a tutorial on how to install it, I can say that it is really simple. Simply go to the ProveSource website and create a new account. Then just log into your ProveSource account and follow the instructions. You will need to choose your platform (in our case it’s WordPress) and connect your WooCommerce shop with your ProveSource account via your API key. If you need more detailed instructions, you will find them here.
Below you can see some screenshots of how these WordPress integrations look like in action:
The plugin is free for up to 1,000 monthly unique visitors with some limited features. Premium plans are $24/mo (Starter plan for up to 20k monthly unique visitors) and $45/mo (Growth plan for up to 50k monthly unique visitors). Larger plans for more advanced customers are available as well.
Overall, I think this plugin does a great job and, in my opinion, it is a must-have plugin for every online store. If I ever set up an online store in the future, I will definitely add this function to it.
