How to Create a WordPress Website with AI – Tutorial
Note: I may earn a commission if you purchase a product mentioned in this article. That helps me produce free content like this one.
In this article, I will briefly explain how you can build a WordPress website with AI.
Before we start, I’d like to note that you will still have to deal with stuff like choosing & registering a domain name and buying web hosting. You can check out my other, more-detailed guide on how to do all these things. You will, however, be able to do things like build your website’s body layout (only in the second case – explained below), and generate images and texts completely with AI.
1. Building a WordPress Website with Divi AI
Please note that in order to use the Divi AI features, you will need to buy a more advanced Divi license that includes the Divi AI features too (you can find more information on the Divi theme pricing details here). Or, you can purchase a separate Divi license and, after that, buy the Divi AI Package as an add-on.
Even if you will be building a WordPress website with Divi AI, you will still need some basic knowledge of Divi and how its layouts, sections, rows, and modules work. This is, however, pretty easy to learn, e.g., from a Youtube video tutorial like this one.
After that, you will be able to use the Divi AI’s features to generate texts and images with its AI engine. You can also check out this video to see how the Divi AI Image Editor works. I have been amazed by how and what you can achieve with it right inside the Divi builder.
So the next step is to build your layouts with the Divi builder. However, you don’t have to do this manually. You can buy some premade Divi layouts, like, for example, one of these layouts. They are not expensive.
Lastly, I’d like to say, and this is how I do it, that I simply use just Divi (without Divi AI), and I use manually the combination of the free versions of Chat GPT, Bing Copilot, and/or Google Bard (you can also use Surfer SEO, a paid tool) for texts and Canva for images. And I simply copy & paste the generated outputs right into the Divi theme visual builder. This is a little more complicated process, but you won’t bloat your WordPress database with all the AI functions and their outputs.
I also use some other AI tools, like, e.g., Quillbot for grammar corrections. And I try to write the text manually whenever possible, as it looks like Google still prefers human-written content. Hint: You can use a tool like, e.g., Originality AI to check if your content is original or if it was written with AI.
2. Building a WordPress Website with ZipWP AI
The second way of making a WordPress website with artificial intelligence, which I will mention here, is with a tool called ZipWP. Literally, I was very amazed by this tool. I have tested it; I created a simple WP website using it in just a few minutes (I believe I would be able to do it within 10 minutes). And I even used a ChatGPT prompt to generate for me the description for my AI website for this tool. :)
It works the following way: You just need to sign up on the ZipWP website, fill in the details of your website, like, e.g., the type of business (in my example, a pizzeria restaurant), and provide a brief description of your business. Then it will let you choose some images for the website that are based on your business description. In my case, it was images of pizza, a pizza oven, pizza cooking, and people sitting in a pizza restaurant. So I chose some images and clicked “Continue”. And that was it. A nice WordPress website has been created with artificial intelligence for me. You can see a screenshot of what it looked like below. In my opinion, it looks pretty decent:
After this step, you will also receive the login details for this temporary WordPress installation (they will send them to your email too). You will be able to further customize the colors, add your logo, etc. You will also be able to log into the WordPress admin panel and make other changes to this WordPress install. You can see what the customizations panel looks like in the image below:
Overall, I was really surprised by this tool and how quick and easy-to-use it actually is. Also, I have tried this tool for free (you can do the same). You can generate up to 3 AI websites per month for free. You will also get 1 GB of web space for them. After that, you will have 24 hours to either transfer the website to your own web hosting account (this can be easily done with free WordPress plugins like Duplicator) or upgrade to a premium plan. The premium “Business” plan comes with many great features, like 10 AI sites per day, 20 permanent sites, 20 GB of disk space, white label domains, VIP support, and many more.
Both of the ways of creating WordPress websites with AI explained in this article work great. If you are more experienced with WordPress and have already used a page builder, then I recommend the first option, Divi. Otherwise, if you are quite new to WordPress or not that experienced with it, the second option, ZipWP, might be better for you. However, the final decision is up to you.
